Should I Give A Closing Gift?

Good gifts cost too much...They may not like it...My business doesn't get anything in return" or my personal favorite..."It is like having to buy a gift for a troublesome in-law."

Okay, perhaps that last statement is beyond what most people feel, but the idea of providing clients with a closing gift is foreign to many Loan Originators. While some won't even consider providing a gift, others only provide a gift to avoid feeling cheap or to satisfy a perceived industry standard. These are not good reasons. However, not giving a closing gift can be a missed opportunity. After all, an appreciated gift can get you remembered, and a gift that gets continually used serves as a permanent reminder. Maybe a gift isn't such a bad idea, but what is the right gift?
