There's More than One Type of Seminar for First Time Homebuyers!

Pick up any real estate magazine! Newspaper? Flyer! Does it seem to you that everyone is holding a seminar of some sort or another—including the local dentist or the doctor who specializes in Lasik surgery?

There is a right way and a wrong way to give seminars and the biggest mistake that is commonly made is that seminar leaders try to cram in too much information. Or the seminar lasts for hours on end.

This article not only covers tips on how and where to hold your seminars, but you will also read an outline (and suggested content) for three different seminars you can hold for first time homebuyers.

The basic concept is to “niche the niche”.

Seminar Basics

  • Best Days of the Week to Hold Seminars: Tuesday or Thursday
  • Location: Neutral (Library, Community Center, Title Office)
  • Length of Time: 1 hour only - 7pm to 8pm (more on why in this article)
  • Maximum Number of Speakers: Two
  • Marketing Venues: Apartments Complexes, Ads in Real Estate Magazines, Your Database, Affinity Partners, Classified Section of Newspaper
  • Follow-Up System: Create an Individualized Marketing Plan for Each Attendee

Most people think that a first time homebuyer seminar should cover buying their FIRST home! However, I think that seminars targeted to apartment complexes (www.ApartmentToolKit.com) should cover buying their FIRST PIECE OF REAL ESTATE and be broken down (niched) into three separate seminars.
