There are basically 2 types of blogs—static or interactive. A static site is where you post content and no comments by the readers are allowed.
An interactive site is where the content encourages comments, interaction and feedback from its readers.
“The Stimulus Package was signed by the President the other day and I want to share with you what I think the effect will be on interest rates. Blah, blah, blah, blah.”

For those of you who write a blog (and I encourage you to get on the bandwagon now, before your competitors do) your comments might sound exciting to you. After all, you are sharing info on loan programs, interest rates, and news on the economy. However, I have visited over 25 mortgage blogs in the last few days and if I had not previously been in the mortgage business, I would not have understood the technical content.
Some blogs even regurgitate the comments and text LOs have been paying for from the mortgage membership sites. I spoke with a loan officer who is a member of one of those sites, who posts the content written for her, but had no clue on what it meant.
