Before you say to yourself, "I'd rather eat worms than hold a fashion show", I implore you to read the rest of this article about how you can kill two birds with one stone - rub elbows with more real estate agents than you ever thought possible, while raising money for charity at the same time.
There are 4 parts to the basic concept.
- Hold a fashion show featuring real estate agents as models.
- Choose an agent for an extreme wardrobe makeover.
- Charge admission with all money going to charity.
- Solicit sponsors to pay expenses.
The best part is that the local department store will provide the clothing; real estate agents will attend to see their friends model the latest clothing styles; and the admission fee is going to a good cause.
The goal is to get 75-100 people to attend your Fashion Show for Charity.
Every single detail you need to consider is covered in this article so read on...
Realtor® Participation
Even before you contact your local department store, I recommend that you contact the top ten real estate companies (the manager, not agents) with at least 25 agents per company. Let them know that you are planning to hold a fashion show and would like to see if they would participate by nominating one person from their company as a model. Let them know that you are going to contact 9 other companies with the same request.
Explain that you plan to contact the local department store (could be several stores) and charge admission to be donated to a local charity. Habitat for Humanity; your local homeless shelter or a charity that relates to your chosen profession - housing!
It's a numbers game. The reason to contact companies with 25 or more real estate agents is that an average of 10 agents per office will attend the fashion show to support their fellow agents. Ten companies, 10 agents = 100 attendees.
Bottom line - you need to start with agents because if you can't get their support - you don't have a prayer in pulling it off.
P.S. The fashion show includes both male and female models.
