Do you remember history class? Franklin Roosevelt’s famous “Fireside Chats”? It’s not unlike the TV appearances made by recent presidents.
The reason behind fireside chats (back then) was to calm down the U.S. citizens who were just coming out of a severe economic depression, a housing crisis, loss of jobs, funding of new social programs (think Social Security) and were worried about the invasion of European countries by Germany and the possibility of the U.S. entering a war.
Is history repeating itself, or what?
