I don't know about you, but each and every time the post office increases the postal rates, it's the most frustrating, disorganized experience for postal patrons (their term - not mine)!
On January 8, 2006 the cost of a first-class letter increased a whopping two cents. Our experience with our local post office was that they ran out of 2-cents stamps within one hour's time. As for the new 39-cent stamps? They were out of those within 2 hours!
The Postage Rate Increase Marketing Letter I am about to share with you has been around for as long as I can remember. While I would love to give credit to the person who created it, I personally used a letter like this since the mid-1990's with a huge return on my investment. (Either Joe Stumpf or Brian Buffini made it famous in the real estate indsutry.)
Send 10, 2-cent stamps. Your investment, per client is 20 cents.
However, it's the letter that is an absolutely TIMELESS marketing piece. The government has a proposal to issue yet another rate increase in 2007, although the date has not been released - so SAVE this article for future use. You can view, download and send to everyone you know.
One more benefit - the letter integrates the "right" to ask for referrals in a most unique way!
